My husband grew up in Mesa at a time when sheep was actually brought down from the tribes each year. He was one of the last people to actually mine with the old timers in the Superstitions as a youth. He no longer lives in Arizona and he always talks about missing the fragrance of the creosole after a monsoon rain. I hope this gift renews those moments.

Purchasing these candles, although I wasn’t sure what they would smell like, but after reading the reviews decided to go all in, best decision I made. Great candles. They smell awesome remind me of home. The lid closure with the burnt cactus on it is awesome. Just makes me feel like I’m in Arizona back in the day before the EXTREME growth and when orange groves existed before making way to development. Even though I don’t live there anymore, these remind me of a simpler time growing up in Az.
Growing up in Peoria, Arizona, the sure tell sign of spring was the smell of the orange blossoms from the orange groves. That smell was invigorating a sign of what was to come, but if you’re a native, you knew what was coming…hell heat lol. I miss that smell. It was comforting. It was home. This candle captures that as well.
Being born and raised in Arizona I miss the smell of the desert after a storm. This candle captures that completely. I now live in Kentucky. I don’t have that same smell when it rains. It rains a lot, but it doesn’t smell like a desert after the rain, so happy with this purchase. Even with the candle sitting there unlit, I can still get a whiff of the scent and it is intoxicating.
Love Modern Sonoran, it’s my favorite lil splurge, I love candles and am grateful to have some that I can burn and know they’re clean! The scents are lovely, it’s so much fun to get them and compare them to the scent descriptions! 🤍 🌱

Packaging of the candle was beautiful and the fragrance pleasantly subtle. Since I live in Arizona, I was expecting more of the wet creosote aroma after the monsoon comes through the desert. Still, all in all, it was a very nice candle.
